Posted by administrator.Family Promise of Cabarrus County is a local affiliate of the National Interfaith Hospitality Network, serving Cabarrus and Southern Rowan Counties in North Carolina. We are comprised of a network of fourteen places of worship who will coordinate an environment that provides homeless families the opportunity to maintain a family unit and work toward independence. With the help of volunteers and houses of worship, we provide fourteen people a place to feel safe, access to phones, social services, job counseling, nutritious meals, and a safe place to sleep. While the Cabarrus County Night Shelter provides a wonderful service, this network will enable families to stay together as a unit, in a more private environment where they maintain a sense of family as well as obtaining assistance to help them find permanent housing.

The quarterly community update meeting was held Thursday night at Trinity UCC. With the entire board present, a thorough account of the status of the program was given. Around thirty people from Cabarrus County churches attended and had a chance to ask questions and give feedback.
Board Members built, decorated and rode on a float in the 79th Annual Concord Christmas parade and the Annual Kannapolis Christmas Parade this season. Over 30,000 spectators had an opportunity to see and learn a little about Family Promise! We shared the message that everyone can help bring gifts of Food, Shelter, Hope, and Love to families in need right here in our community.

There are many things that Family Promise can use to help make the stays of our families more comfortable. Most are small items that anyone could help provide.
Can you help with toiletries like soap, shampoo, toothpaste or toothbrushes, hairbrushes, or hair dryers? How about linens like bath towels and washclothes, sheets, blankets or pillows? Finally, we can also use kitchen tools like silverware and dishes and lunch bags.
If you'd like to make a donation of time, please speak with your pastor, rabbi, or imam about getting your congregation involved. Or contact us directly; contact information can be found on the Contact Us page.
